D. Hadayai S. Majeed (born Dora Spencer) is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsen. Born to very politically
and socially active parents, Ms. Majeed has been involved in community development and political action since age 11.
She attended Lloyd Street Elementary School in Milwaukee and Booker T. Washington Elementary School in Kansas
City, Missouri; and SE Junior and Senior High schools in Kansas City, Missouri. She received a BS in Biology from the
University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and continues to improve herself through workshops and continuing education in the areas
of Geology, Business Management and Microbiology. She is a graduate of the Stephen Covey Seven Steps program through
her former employer American Airlines.
Ms. Majeed is the owner and manager of Spencer-Majeed, Ltd., a publishing firm that assists first time
authors get their voices into the literary mainstream. Her company also does promotions and consults for companies wanting
to get their products placed in major chain groceries such as Kroger, Food Lion and IGA. The company website hosts an
International Bazaar for small home-based companies to pool their resources to buy print and electronic advertising.
Ms. Majeed is also a freelance writer and has published two of her own works, Emerging Victorious
and Joy of Islam, through the Spencer-Majeed company. The company also publishes yearly the State of Georgia
Muslim Resource and Business Directory.
Ms. Majeed is the co-founder and present administrator of the Baitul Salaam Network, Inc., a domestic violence
awareness organization headquartered in metro Atlanta. She has been given numerous plaques for her volunteer community
and civic work. She has been recognized for her writing by Georgia Writers, Inc. She is the recipient of the prestigious Lady
Khadijah Award given annually by Masjid Ash Shura of Atlanta.
